Shortly after coming to Atlantis, she ended up being trapped in the infirmary with Ronon Dex. The two became close because of it, but never dated. Friendships: Jennifer considers herself close friends with Ronon Dex and Rodney McKay. She also has spent some time with Teyla, and considers John Sheppard a friend, too. She likes to spend time with Carson Beckett since both of them are doctors, and she believes she has learned a lot of things from him. Sexuality: Straight Strengths: Jennifer's main strength is her knowledge of medicine. She prides herself on being able to help the people around her, and keeping them healthy. She's also a good surgeon. Outside of medicine, sees her friendliness as a strength. She's always willing to help others. She's also a good leader in the medical department, and has won the respect of the other medical doctors. Weaknesses: Jennifer has moments where she doubts herself, especially when it comes to being in a different galaxy. Her doubts almost made her leave Atlantis, since she believed she was only there for short term. She also has moments where she believes everything has to be "done by the book". She's still learning things aren't always done that way on Atlantis. Habits/Quirks: Jennifer's biggest quirk is her sense of humor. She's known to make ill-timed medical jokes, thinking they make her patient feel better. As for habits, Jennifer tends to chew on her fingernails when she concentrating on her work. She also has a habit of talking to herself, especially when she's alone, and trying to figure something out. Personality: Jennifer is a friendly soul. She likes to make new friends, even though there are times she is socially inept. There are moments when she doesn't know how to act around others, this is mainly due to the fact she spent her teenage years studying medicine. She has moments where she second guesses herself, but with a little encouragement, she can do anything she puts her mind to. She's very loyal, and believes all people are good, unless proven otherwise. This sometimes gets her in trouble. What was your character doing before they arrived on the island? Jennifer was born in Wisconsin. From an early age, she showed great intelligence, and her parents did everything in their power to make sure she had the best education. By the time she was fifteen, Jennifer was in college, and well on her way to a medical degree. After becoming a doctor, Jennifer worked at a Chicago hospital. When her mother became ill, Jennifer felt powerless when she realized there was nothing she could do to save her ailing mother. When her mother died, Jennifer wanted to move back to Wisconsin to be closer to her father, but he told her not to. He wanted her to live her own life. A couple years after her mother's death, Jennifer was hired by Stargate Command for research purposes. When Doctor Carson Beckett died, Jennifer was sent to Atlantis to become the city's new Chief Medical Officer. She truly believed the position was temporary until they found a permanent doctor. However, she was wrong, and ended up staying in the city. Her first full year on Atlantis was anything but stellar. During an off-world mission with Teyla, she was kidnapped. On another off-world mission, she was trapped in an old Genii mine with Colonel Samantha Carter, and Doctor Rodney McKay. But Jennifer plowed through it all, and ended up becoming a respected member of the city's senior staff. During an off-world mission to rescue John Sheppard's team, who were trapped after an explosion, things went horribly wrong. After helping get Major Lorne and Rodney McKay out of the rubble, the team had to beam back to the Daedalus. However, Jennifer wasn't beamed back to the ship. Instead, she ended up on a strange island, with no way of getting off.
